General Manager Corporate Services

Our client, a leading not-for-profit organisation, recognised nationally for its community impact, is seeking a strategic and values-driven General Manager Corporate Services to join its executive leadership team, located in Hawke’s Bay. This role requires a true all-rounder, including a strategic thinker who is action-oriented and focuses on end results as well as an ability to get on the tools, especially in the finance portfolio.
Your New Role:
This is a rare opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership position, responsible for overseeing the organisation’s critical corporate functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will lead and integrate finance, IT, HR, payroll and administration ensuring robust systems and services support the achievement of strategic goals. Your role will include the below key responsibilities:
- Financial Management: Oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance and risk management.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team to ensure they reach their full potential.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure organizational compliance requirements while proactively managing risks across the portfolio.
- Contribute to, and lead, organisation-wide strategy as a trusted member of the executive team
What we are looking for:
You may be an experienced senior leader looking for a new challenge or a CA looking for career progression down the leadership path. You will have -
- Qualification in finance/commerce or a related field
- CA qualification is a must
- Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles or senior accountant (CA) positions
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking
- Proven ability to lead people, ideally with a track record of leading high performing multi-disciplinary teams
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
