The role on offer

This is an important position for the Meco team and we visualise the ideal person will be someone who has a good level of expertise in engineering estimating. Alternatively, we will also consider someone who is well experienced on the workshop floor who has a good head for figures and is keen to take that next step in their career journey. (Please note, this is not a new graduate level role)

The overall focus of the role will be to provide end to end services in quoting and estimating across multiple engineering projects ensuring all timeframes are met. You will assist in determining the scope of projects, the contents of the estimate as well as the associated costs and attend client/project site meetings along with other related tasks required in an estimating role.

One of the key criteria in the selection process will be your ability to connect well with both clients and staff. You must be able to make yourself easily understood and build the trust that is essential in building future business relationships. Along with this you would need to have the following traits, skills and experience.

• 3 years + in engineering estimating or work experience in a hands-on role
• Relevant trade qualification desirable but not essential
• Tech savvy with proficiency in the use of MS Office and drawing programmes
• An analytical mind with the ability to make good decisions
• Able to confidently source new business opportunities
• Demonstrate commitment to health and safety policies and procedures
• Able to commit to a positive work culture across the company and show respect
• Be prepared to ‘roll your sleeves up’ and assist other team members if required
