Our client, Netball Taranaki is a Regional Sports Organisation in the Sport NZ framework and is a member of Netball Central and Netball New Zealand. They are one of New Zealand’s largest Netball playing provinces with almost 600 teams involved in Netball at six locations around the mountain. They deliver year-round sporting programs, development and learning opportunities for players, coaches, umpires, officials and volunteers.
Being a community based ‘Not for Profit’ organisation that is largely funded by NZCT and TSBCT they rely on the support and relationships with their sponsors, partners, funding agencies and trusts.
The Role
This is a truly unique and challenging opportunity with Netball Taranaki. It is central to keeping the cogs in the wheel turning behind the scenes to ensure all the administrative processes and timelines come together well to ensure effective operations of netball.
The administration tasks of the office will include, events, games, tournaments and competitions, venue maintenance, recruitment and assistance with management of seasonal staff, maintenance of membership databases and competition scheduling. Along with this you will be assisting with media for day-to-day operational netball issues, creating flyers and social media posts and any other responsibilities as required.
The ideal person
Roles like this don’t come along very often and key to the selection process for this role will be a person who is able to combine their excellent people skills with a high level of administrative and organisational abilities. Along with this you will need the following skills and attributes:
- A strong administration background with 5-7 years plus experience
- Able to deal effectively with a large workload
- Preferably from a member-based organisation but not essential
- Essential skills in being able to clearly organise and plan daily/ weekly goals
- Able to juggle multiple projects at any one time
- Computer savvy with experience in using various IT systems and software
- Be flexible to work extra hours if required
- Confident in making decisions when and where required
- Able to connect well with a wide range of people and cultures
- Be a person who just rolls up their sleeves and pitches in when needed
