General Manager – Data and Digital
Health Hawke’s Bay – Te Oranga o Te Matau-a-Māui is the region’s single Primary Health Organisation (PHO), covering a population of approximately 167,500. We aim to improve health outcomes and life expectancy across Hawke’s Bay, particularly for Māori and other under-served groups. Our mahi focuses on supporting communities, whānau and providers to achieve sustainable health gains, and equitable health outcomes.
Health Hawke’s Bay is looking for a proactive and talented data and digital leader to help drive and deliver best in class data services across the organisation and to its primary care network.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive and sitting on the ELT, the General Manager Data and Digital has accountability for leadership and management of all aspects related to digital, data, technology, cyber security and knowledge and insights. This important senior leadership position leads a team of six digital and data professionals, with responsibilities including -
- Ensuring digital, data and technology systems and procedures align with strategic objectives, mitigate risk, and support key stakeholders through the development of strategy and roadmaps.
- Building, developing and leading the data and digital team to have an exceptional service delivery focus and ensure efficiencies and operational excellence are achieved across the organisation.
- Identifying and assessing the potential impact of emerging technologies on business delivery, policy, and services while seeking innovation in models of care through digital and data.
This role presents a great opportunity for a talented digital and data leader to come in and review the current state and then make their own mark with the future direction of the team and the digital and data footprint within the organisation and it’s wider practice network. About You
We’re looking for someone who loves digital and data and has a passion for people leadership and great customer service. You may be in a similar digital and data senior leadership position currently OR in a digital and data management role looking for that step up into a role sitting at the senior leadership table.
Important to this role:
- Tertiary degree qualified in a related field.
- Proven track record of developing and leading high performing data and digital teams, ideally in a health sector setting, but experience gained in all sectors will be considered
- Experience leading and navigating through technical change
- Experience in the development and management of ICT security frameworks and tools
- Detailed understanding of data architecture as well as a strong knowledge of applications, servers (Microsoft SQL), networks, data organisation and both hardware/software
- Experience working with large scale complicated datasets, automation and BI visualisation tools
- Understanding of the Cloud based technology environment, including Azure
- Proactive, collaborative and solution focused customer service style with excellent communication skills
- Sound knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and an appreciation and willingness to promote equitable solutions that benefit and support all our community
