Our HR Consultancy team partners closely with clients across a broad range of industries, providing practical, commercial and people‑focused advice within our three workstreams – HR/ER, Recruitment and OD.

The Opportunity
We are looking for an HR Consultant with a level of experience to join our HR team. The role will have a strong focus on leading and delivering our recruitment portfolio alongside providing end‑to‑end HR generalist and some employment relations support to clients. As a close knit team, you will be instrumental in providing support to our senior consultants. We will also provide you with support and mentoring to grow your skill set further.
This role would suit either:
A true HR generalist with a strong interest and capability in recruitment, or
A recruitment consultant (agency or in‑house) with some HR experience who is keen to broaden their skills and move into a more holistic HR advisory role.
This is a part‑time role (up to 30 hours per week), however full‑time may be considered for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
In this varied and client‑facing role, with responsibilities inclduing:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Lead end‑to‑end recruitment across a wide range of roles — from entry‑level through to senior management and specialist positions
Partner with clients to understand role requirements, organisational context and hiring needs
Draft engaging job advertisements and manage advertising campaigns
Conduct shortlisting, interviews, reference checking and offer processes
Provide market insights and practical recruitment advice to clients
HR Consulting & Generalist Support
Provide day‑to‑day HR advice across the employee lifecycle
Draft and review employment agreements, policies and HR documentation
Support clients and our team of HR consultants with employee relations support including disciplinary and grievance processes
Assist with restructures, role design and organisational change processes
Provide administrative support with workplace investigation
Support compliance with NZ employment legislation and best practice
Assist in the set up and delivery of workshops and seminars for clients on best practice HR and ER
About You
You will bring a balance of people smarts, commercial thinking and practical delivery, with the willingness to roll your sleeves up and help the team out. You will also bring with you with:
Proven experience in recruitment (agency or in‑house), recruiting across a range of role levels
Experience as an HR generalist, or a genuine interest in expanding into broader HR advisory work
Sound understanding of NZ employment legislation and HR best practice
Strong stakeholder management and client‑facing capability
Ability to network and build relationships with clients
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with outstanding attention to detail on written work
Ability to manage multiple roles, clients and priorities simultaneously
